Description
Miguelitos Leche Flan Mix is an easy way to make smooth, creamy leche flan, the classic Filipino caramel custard, without steaming or baking. It's made in the Philippines with sugar, non-dairy creamer, skimmed milk powder, and carrageenan, which sets the flan, plus artificial custard flavor. It's artificially colored and halal. Contains milk, and it's made in a facility that also processes soy, wheat, sulfites, sesame, peanuts, and tree nuts.
For the caramel, melt 1 cup of sugar until golden, add 1 cup of water, simmer until slightly thick, and pour into 9 llaneras. Dissolve the mix in 3 cups of water with 6 egg yolks, 2 cans of condensed milk, and 2 cans of evaporated milk, then strain twice. Cook in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly for 20 minutes, then pour into the llaneras and chill for 3–4 hours. It's perfect for Noche Buena, fiestas, and birthdays. Comes in a 1.1lb (500g) pack that makes 9 medium llaneras.
