Description
A ready mix for making ube kutsinta, the soft, chewy Filipino steamed cake in purple yam flavor, this pack from Miguelitos is a product of the Philippines. It's made with sugar, wheat flour, cassava starch, lye water, and purple yam flavor, so you only need to add water.
Dissolve the whole pack in 2 1/2 cups of water, strain it three times, and pour into lightly greased molds. Steam over low heat for about 45 minutes until firm, then cool for 15 minutes before unmolding. Top with grated coconut, cheese, or syrup and serve for merienda or at parties. 1.1 lbs (500g) pack.
