Description
A ready-to-make mix for puto, the soft, fluffy Filipino steamed cake, from Miguelitos, a product of the Philippines. It's made with bromate-free wheat flour, sugar, skimmed milk powder, and vanilla flavor, and it's labeled halal. Contains wheat and milk, and it's made in a facility that also processes eggs and nuts.
Mix the pack with 2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter until well blended, then strain and pour into greased molders. Steam over low heat with a cloth-covered lid for 15 to 20 minutes, top each puto with a slice of cheese, and let it cool for 15 minutes before unmolding. Serve it for merienda, with dinuguan, or at birthdays and handaan. Store in a cool, dry place. 1.1 lbs (500g) pouch.
