Description
A seasoning mix for Filipino tomato-based meat stews, this Menudo/Afritada Mix from Mama Sita's is a product of the Philippines made with paprika, tomato powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and a little cane sugar. It may contain peanut, milk, shrimp, soy, and wheat.
Dissolve the pouch in 1 cup of water, fry potatoes and carrots and set them aside, then brown your meat in the same pan. Pour in the mix, cover, and simmer until tender before adding the vegetables back. Use beef, liver, raisins, and garbanzos for menudo, or chicken with bell peppers and green peas for afritada. 1.06 oz (30g) pouch, makes about 5 servings.
