Description
Bottled gourmet tuyo (dried herring) from San Sebastian, made in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines, with the fish packed in olive oil and lots of garlic. It's made with dried sardinella, salt, olive oil, corn oil, garlic, and vinegar for that salty, garlicky tuyo flavor, with no frying and no smell in the kitchen. May contain egg, seafood, and soy.
Serve it straight from the jar with garlic rice, a fried egg, and sliced tomatoes for a classic tuyo breakfast, or with champorado for merienda. You can also toss the flaked fish and garlicky oil with pasta for tuyo pasta, or pile it on pandesal and crackers as pulutan. Store at room temperature. 220g jar.
